Give it a TRI - Fun, family friendly community triathlon!
We are super excited to be launching this fun, family friendly community event on Sunday 28 November at Frimley Park, Hastings! This will be a timed event, but the focus is all about having FUN! We will have plenty of marshals in transition to help you and show you around as well as lots of helpers on the course.
This event is suitable for absolute beginners and for those wanting to give a super short triathlon a go. It is a nice event for parents/grandparents/siblings/kids or friends to do together and stick alongside each other the whole way or make it a bit more competitive if you want to race each other for bragging rights! Open to adults and kids aged over 8 for the "Lets give it a TRI" and "Out there smashing it" distances and over 10 for the "Super Stars" longer discipline.
We also have loads of spot prizes to give away (no prizes for placings) and these will be handed out randomly at the finish line. Each finisher gets a free lollies, Kiwi Garden yoghurt drops and a muesli bar and a there is a super cheap entry fee to encourage people to give it a go.
Floatation devices available for the swim leg if required - lifeguards are on duty. Bike course is partly through Frimley Park and partly on road. All left hand turns and full traffic management in place (roads are open). Registered caregivers can bike with kids (single file). Run course is through Frimley Park. Course distances below - distances are approximate.
All Covid-19 rules will be adhered to and the numbers will be limited to under 100. Entries are online only and close at 11.59pm on Friday 26 November or until sold out. Very limited spectators are allowed. Spectators must be wearing masks and must be socially distanced 2 metres apart.
No spectators in transition or crowded around the finish line.

Race Briefing: 8.15am
Race Start: 8.30am start. It is an early start so it is not too hot and less traffic on the roads.
Prizegiving: Random spot prizes will be awarded at the finish line. No prizegiving. Course maps

Event pricing
This is an entry level, fun triathlon for those aged 8 and over. Kids can participate alongside (or race) their caregiver, parents, siblings, grandparents. This is suitable for adult beginners or even more seasoned adults that want to give a super short triathlon a go! We are open to everyone and the focus is on fun!
Entries only $15! Tri HB Multi Sport Youth Squad members and Tri HB members only $10! Don't forget you get free lollies, muesli bars and yoghurt drops plus are in the draw for cool spot prizes!
