The Auckland Schools Enduro is an enduro event for Auckland School Students years 8 to 13. The event is held in Maraetai Forest.

We can all agree it has been a hard couple of years, and with events cancelled left right and centre, we thought now is the time to offer something to semi try and have our life back. It is not the full scaled Enduro event we would have liked to offer, but a low key 'keep within the covid requirements' event to give you a taste of things to come. As we hope to make this a regular event on our race calendar.

So what is Enduro racing? It is a super fun event! There are 4 stages that will be a combination of flow and technical grade 3 and 4 trails. You have 2 1/2 hrs to complete the 4 stages and get back to the race village. You are only timed on these stages (that are mostly down tracks). The quickest male and female to complete all 4 stages takes the win. You can repeat if you do a stinker of a time. If you have a phone, you can look up the live results, so can repeat if a mate has beaten you - though be warned the last run of that stage will be your time.

NOTE that there will be no spectators for this event, the only way to be there on the day is if you are a volunteer. Luckily we are after a few, so get in touch to register your name - email us. UPDATE - specators are now required with the new covid changes, vacinne pass will be required for entry.

The event village will be at the top of the first hill in Maraetai Forest - by the exit of Waiho Elevator. You will need to bike up there (will take around 15 min) - a good warm up. Access to the forest is at the end of Rewa Road.

There will be no parking or drop off in the forest. If driving to the event, we recommend parking at Maraetai Beach and biking in.  For riders being dropped off and picked up, we recommend being dropped off at Maraetai Beach and biking in or being dropped off along Rewa Road. Note there is limited space to turn around on Rewa Road, especially beyond Maraetai Hall.

PROGRAMME
Race registration is between 9 am and 10 am.
Race briefing is at 10.15 am
The race will start at 10.30 am and finish at 1 pm.  A sausage sizzle will be running during the event at the event village to keep those belly's full (big thanks Countdown Beachlands for donating the sausages and bread).

We have ONETIME on board to do the timing - which will be live!!! So again don't forget your phone.

Unfortunately there will be no prize giving.  Once riders are finished they can leave the venue. Just remember to return your transponder following the race.

Note - Red traffic light protocols will be in place. You must be fully vaccinated and have your passport with you (you will be checked at the forest gate). Masks are to be worn when not racing (and eating/drinking), please social distance. For U12 vaccine passport is not required.

More details on the event can be found in the Race Guide link.
