The Waiau Pa 5000 Fun Run/walk (5kms) is held at Clarks Beach, in Franklin District. This event is organised by the local Waiau Pa Netball Club to raise funds that support subidizing of player registrations, playing uniforms and providing resources.

This family friendly 5km course goes around the streets of Clarks Beach. There are trophies awarded at the completion of the Event - these catergories are Mens, Womens, Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Master Mens, Master Womens, Walker and Gold Card. There is also a teams trophy - four runners of same team with a combined score giving the fastest time.

There will be great spot prizes for participants, along with sausages and drinks for sale.
