Event # 2 - 12 March 2023 Mitre 10 Sportspark
Triathlon HB are so excited to bring you ronkids Events for Hawkes Bay tamariki in 2023.
These are always popular events and the aim is to see if you can beat your own time. There are different distances for different ages and kids can participate as individuals or 3 person teams in the triathlon.
Super safe environment with a swim at the amazing HB Aquatic Centre and cycling and running on the sports fields and perimetre pathway.
This year we have events for 7 - 19 year olds - so definitely something for everyone!
There is an Aquathlon (swim/run for the older kids aged 14-18 years).
Great way to be out there and get active and where else can you practise your transitions and have fun? As a community, not for profit charitable organisation, we have kept entry fees as low as possible and you will be part of a professionally run, timed, super fun event. Only $15 for Napier Port Multisport Youth Squad members and $25 for non members and $45 for 3 person teams. All welcome.
We encourage everybody to give it a TRI!
Event Times
Registration: 9am - 9.40am
Compulsory Race Briefing: 9.45am
Start time: 10am
Venue: Mitre 10 Sportspark/HB Aquatic Centre, Percival Road, Hastings. Transition and start/finish near the back entrance to the HB Aquatic Centre on the Netball courts (look for signs).

Prizegiving
Prizegiving will be held straight after the last person finishes and will be held in the transition area.
As this event is all about being involved, no prizes for placegetters. However, loads of spot prizes will be distributed at prizegiving to the lucky people that have been selected in our random prize draw. You have to be there to collect.
Plus a FREE sausage sizzle at the finish line!
Event distances
7-10 Years Triathlon
50m Swim (1 length), 2.3km Cycle (1 lap), 900m Run (1 lap). Distances are approximate and subject to change.
11-13 Years Triathlon
100m Swim (2 lengths), 2.3km Cycle (1 lap), 1.8km Run (2 laps). Distances are approximate and subject to change.
14-19 Years Aquathlon
200m swim (4 lengths), 4.6km Run (2 long laps of permiter pathway of Sportspark). No cycle.
The swim is in the HB Aquatic Centre 50m indoor heated pool. This is a worldclass facility and we are very excited to use it. The pool is 2.2 metres deep the whole way. If younger kids are not confident in the water there will be pool noodles and kick boards they can use and they can also hold on to the side of the pool or the lane ropes. Lifeguards and Tri HB marshals will be monitoring all swimmers.
Entries are online only and close on Friday 10 March at 12 NOON (please note the earlier than usual close off time).
