Event Waiver

IRONMᾹORI EVENT WAIVERS
2022 ATHLETES POLICIES: 
In choosing to register for this event, I hereby agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. I acknowledge that triathlons and the individual disciplines associated with a triathlon are inherently dangerous, and the real risk of serious injury, or death, can occur. Such risks may involve but are not limited to, overexertion, equipment failure, dehydration, accidents with other competitors, spectators or road users, course, or weather conditions. 
  2. I verify that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for this event. I verify that a medical practitioner has verified my physical condition, and if not, I agree to participate at my own risk. 
  3. I acknowledge and will specify any medical or physical conditions from which I suffer that might affect my performance or be relevant if medical treatment is needed when completing the online registration form. If I am diagnosed with any new medical or physical conditions, I will contact IRONMᾹORI directly.
  4. I consent to receiving any medical treatment that the Event Organisers or medical/ paramedical personnel deem as essential during or after the event.
  5. Safety precautions undertaken by organisers (such as course supervision, race safety briefings, and bicycle and helmet safety checks) are a service to me and other competitors but are not a guarantee of safety.
  6. I acknowledge and accept that the Event Organiser reserves the right to accept or decline entries and has authority to issue special invitations in its sole and absolute discretion. 
  7. I acknowledge that by reason of circumstances beyond the control of the event directors, it may become necessary or desirable to change the format of the event, and if that occurs, I consent to the changes and I agree that the conditions herein set out shall apply to that changed event.
  8. I acknowledge that in the case of the event being cancelled due to conditions beyond the control of the organisers including but are not limited to; flood, cyclone, torrential rain, other “Acts of God”, “Acts of Terrorism”, infectious disease (For example Covid-19), or other conditions my entry fee shall be non-refundable. 
  9. I agree to abide by all race rules and directions issued by the Event organiser/Race Director.
  10. I acknowledge and accept that the information gathered from this event (Including Registration Form Details) will be used to administer the event and may be used to promote and market future events. I understand that my details may be passed onto third parties (i.e. sponsors) for promotional purposes relating to the event. I give permission for the use of my picture for any promotional material for this event and future events. 
  11. I, (For myself, and where applicable, on behalf of my legal guardian, successors, executors and trustees) release the event owners, organisers, directors, officials, sponsors, promoters, suppliers, medical/paramedical personnel, local authorities and statutory body,  volunteers, and all other personal associated with the event (“the organisers”) from any and all liability, claims, actions, and causes of actions whatsoever arising out of or relating to any loss, damage, injury or death, that may have been sustained by me in connection with my entry and/or participant in this event. I, (For myself, and where applicable, on behalf of my legal guardian, successors, executors, and trustees) fully indemnify the organisers against any such liability, claims, action or causes of action. I understand that this waiver and indemnity extends to any and all liability, whether arising through the negligence, action, or inaction of any of the organisers or otherwise. I, (For myself, and where applicable, on behalf of my legal guardian, successors, executors, and trustees) accept and agree that this release and indemnity continues forever and binds my heirs, executors, personal representative, and assigns.  
  12. I hereby certify that I am eighteen (18) years of age or older to compete as an individual, and I am fifteen (15) years of age or older to compete in a team for the IRONMᾹORI Half Event (2KM Swim, 90KM Bike, 21.1KM Run).
I hereby certify that I am sixteen (16) years of age or older to compete as an individual, and I am fifteen (15) years of age or older to compete in a team for the IRONMᾹORI Quarter Event (1KM Swim, 45KM Bike, 10.5KM Run).
I hereby certify that I am fifty-five (55) years of age or older to compete in the IRONMᾹORI Kaumatua Event. 
I hereby certify that I am five-twelve (5-12) years of age or older for the individual event or if I am entering in a team for the IRONMᾹORI Tamariki Event. 
I hereby certify that I am thirteen-seventeen (13-17) years of age or older for the individual event or in a team for the IRONMᾹORI Rangatahi Event. 
I hereby certify that I am sixteen (16) years of age or older to compete as an individual, and I am fifteen (14) years of age or older to compete in a team for the IRONMᾹORI Auckland Event.
  1. Covid 19: IRONMᾹORI are committed to the health and safety of all registered participants.
The organisers ask that anyone feeling unwell leading up to the event date, are to remain at home.
For those onsite and competing; QR Codes and sanitising stations will be present in all entrances, and other highly populated or key areas. IRONMᾹORI will abide by and follow all mandatory New Zealand Government Guidelines. 
Should the Ministry of Health or Local District Health Board request or require participant details for contact tracing purposes, IRONMᾹORI will provide this information to them. This will include your name, contact number, and email address. This information will only be provided to the aforementioned parties if it is requested. 
I acknowledge and accept that I have read and understood the policies regarding Covid-19.
By submitting this registration from, I hereby certify that I am (18) years of age and older and accept these terms and conditions. 

2022 ENTRY POLICIES
ELIGIBLE ATHLETE WITHDRAWAL REFUNDS
If you cannot participate in the 2023 IRONMᾹORI Quarter & Half Event for any reason, a refund of 50% of the registration fee will be available in accordance with the below stated Athlete Withdrawal date only. All smaller regional events are non-refundable. 
All refund requests must be submitted by 30th June 2023 11:59pm (NZST). There will be no refunds for athlete withdrawals after this date. NO EXCEPTIONS. 
Requests for refunds must be notified to the organiser in writing via email at [email protected]
Where eligible, please allow up to 30 business days for your refund to be processed.  
The refund will be automatically issued into the bank account you provide.
After the stipulated dates, entry fees are non-refundable for withdrawals initiated by the athlete. 
**Athletes who have transferred into this event (This includes due to a cancellation of a previous year’s event due to Covid-19), entered through an Event Credit are not eligible for athlete withdrawal refunds.
IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE:
It is each athlete’s sole responsibility to ensure that they can attend and compete in the event on the day. Other than as provided for in the Athlete Withdrawal program set out above, no refunds will be given for change of mind, change of personal circumstances, or injury, after the 30th of June 2023- 11:59pm (NZST). 
If you decide to withdraw at the event after collecting your Event Race Pack at Check-In, please advise our Registration Team and hand your timing chip in. If you need to withdraw on race day, your details must be recorded by the Registration Team. 
 
TRANSFER PROGRAM
If you are unable to attend the 2023 event for any reason, you are eligible to transfer your entry to the 2024 IRONMᾹORI Quarter & Half Event. All transfers will be subject to pay an administration fee of half your original registration fee (NZD). All smaller regional events are non-transferrable. 
Administration Fee:
  • Half Individual’s: $145
  • Half Team’s: $200
  • Half Solo Discipline: $62.50
 
  • Quarter Individual’s: $95
  • Quarter Team’s: $160
  • Quarter Solo Discipline: $47.50

Requests for an Event Transfer must be notified to the organiser in writing via email at [email protected]
All Event Transfer requests must be submitted by 31st August 2023 11:59pm (NZST). There will be no Event Transfers after this date. NO EXCEPTIONS. 
The Transfer Program is not available to athletes that have already been transferred/deferred into this event or have entered the event through an Event Credit. All transfers are final, and athletes will not be eligible for a refund if they are unable to make the Transferred Event date.
Athletes are not permitted to transfer their entry to another athlete. 
IMPORTANT: Please note it is prohibited for someone else to compete under your name or for you to compete under someone else's name. Any athlete/s who participate in this act will incur a 5-year ban from entering any future IRONMᾹORI Events.  
 
COVID-19 POLICIES
What will happen to my entry if I test positive for COVID-19, and will still be within the isolation period when the Event is scheduled for?
Athletes will be required to email the Event Organisers at [email protected], and provide proof of their positive test result through one of the following resources:
  • My Covid Record: Reporting (RAT) Test Results online.
  • Provide an email from your ‘Employer’ confirming that you have tested positive for COVID-19. 
  • Provide an email from your ‘Doctor’ Employer’ confirming that you have tested positive for COVID-19. 
 
If approved by the Event Organisers, the athlete’s registration will be transferred through to the 2024 Event Date. There will be no refund provided. The athlete will not be eligible for a refund or another Event Transfer if they are unable to make the 2024 Event Date. NO EXCEPTIONS.
What will happen to my entry for, if the event is not able to proceed for reasons relating to the Covid-19 Pandemic? 
Where achievable, IRONMᾹORI will be rescheduled. If this occurs all registered athletes for the IRONMᾹORI event will have their current registration automatically transferred (and any additional purchases) to the new event date. IRONMᾹORI will provide as much notice as possible, when making this decision.
Due to reasons out of IRONMᾹORI’s control, and the 2023 Event is Cancelled. All registered athletes for the IRONMᾹORI will have their current registration automatically transferred (and any additional purchases) to the new event date.
In the circumstance stipulated above, there will be no refund provided for the athlete’s registration fee (or any portion of) or any other costs incurred in connection with the event.
What if I am unable to make the event due to Border Restrictions or implications of the COVID-19 Pandemic?
It is each athlete’s individual responsibility to ensure they can attend the event location on the event date.
A refund will not be provided to athletes unable to attend due to border restrictions. 
Impacted athletes will be contacted and given a limited time opportunity to defer their entry to the following year.

IRONMĀORI EVENTS LIMITED
VOLUNTEERS AGREEMENT
 
As a Volunteer, I acknowledge and assume all the risks of volunteering in this Event:
  • I understand that my volunteering in the event may involve a risk of physical injury to me or others, damage to mine or others property, or other consequences. These consequences may be the result of the actions, inactions, or negligence of myself, and/or others, or from the various conditions of the event premises, including the equipment, or weather. There may also be unknown risks, or unforeseeable, including but not limited to; falls, collisions with participants, vehicles, pedestrians, spectators, other volunteers, or fixed objects; dangers arising from surface hazards, equipment failure, or inadequate safety equipment; and hazards that may be posed by spectators/bystanders.
  • I acknowledge and confirm that I have no knowledge of any physical or mental limitations, conditions, or other restrictions that would inhibit my ability to safely volunteer.
  • I agree to abide by the following code of conduct: 1) Not consume any drugs of alcohol that will impair my judgement and ability to volunteer for this event. 2) Respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every individual at the event, including athletes, spectators, and other volunteers. 3) To not discriminate against anyone based on sex, ethnicity, religion, ability, or performance. 4) Respect all property, including but not limited to, event venues, event equipment, property of athletes. 5) Act professionally and take responsibility for my actions, including demonstrating high standards in respect to my appearance, actions, and language. 
  • I consent to receiving any medical treatment for the likes of an injury, or occident that occurred during event set up, pack down, or during the event, that the Event Organisers or medical/ paramedical personnel deem as essential. 
  • I acknowledge and accept that the information gathered from this event (Including Registration Form Details) will be used to administer the event and may be used to promote and market future events. I understand that my details may be passed onto third parties (i.e. sponsors) for promotional purposes relating to the event. I give permission for the use of my picture for any promotional material for this event and future events. 
  • I agree to carry out tasks outlined in the Volunteer Role Description and abide by safety and risk management requirements.
  • I agree to attend on the agreed time and day or contact the appropriate person if I am not available.
  • I agree to participate in orientation, meetings, and trainings as required.
  • I acknowledge, and will raise any matters of concern with the applicable IRONMĀORI Director
 
Confidentiality Agreement
  • I hereby agree that any information heard, observed, or obtained during my volunteer’s role at IRONMĀORI Events Limited, shall remain confidential to IRONMĀORI Events Limited. I agree that I shall not discuss any confidential information obtained as a volunteer with anyone, other than my assigned IRONMĀORI Director.
