Event goes on ‘Rain or Shine’ so there is no rain day nor a cancellation policy

Registration and Late entries on the day is at the Lions Station, Belgium St, from 7.30 am. Registrations close at 9.30 am.

Competitors can take the bus from the Lions Station to Kariotahi Beach for the start, starting from 8 am with the last bus leaving at 9.30 am. Prams/buggys are allowed in the run but unfortunately not on the bus due to space. The buses do multiple trips to the beach so you are unable to leave bags/jackets on the bus. The Lions will have a truck at the beach in which you can leave a labelled bag/jacket at your own risk. This truck will return to the Lions Station on Belgium St (finish line). 

Start is at 10am.

Route: Kariotahi Beach, along Kariotahi Road to Martyn Street, into Kent Street, Domain Street, then into Massey Park to the finish line at the Lions Station.

Plenty of fun to be had from 10am onwards at the finish line in Massey Park - bring your picnic blanket. There is a Kids Challenge for primary school students (students do not have to be Fun Run participants) including games and mud! Cheer the runners home and stay for the prizegiving, games, stalls, food, refreshments, music and more.

The Tug a War competition will be another highlight of the day with competition always proving to be fierce in both the Primary school and Adult groups - enter your 6-person team at the registration & be in to win $500 for primary school teams and $500 for adult teams to donate to a school or charity.

Conditions of Entry

  1. Safety Briefing is given to all competitors on the buses that shuttle competitors to beach start
  2. Remember the roads are not closed
  3. Keep to the left-hand side of the road unless directed otherwise by the marshals.
  4. Give way to traffic always.
  5. St. John's Ambulance will observe runners along course & be at Finish line to monitor for heat stress/exhaustion. 
  6. Keep Hydrated - Two water stations along the course and drinks are available at finish for competitors.
  7. Competitors are responsible for their own race time recording
