The Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ is Brisbane’s biggest ultra trail running event.

We boast the most ITRA and UTMB points for a Brisbane ultra trail running event and we offer 5 events rolled into one festival. Challenge yourself to the toughest climbs and descents and the most amazing finish line experience.

We are excited to announce that in 2019 we hosted the inaugural Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ and Festival. The Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ attracted over 540 entrants from all over Australia and the globe, with entrants flocking to the event from Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, The United Kingdom, United States of America, New Zealand, Singapore, France, Estonia, New Caledonia, Spain and Malaysia.

The inaugural running of Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ attracted Australia’s top elite athletes. Kellie Emmerson (VIC), Ben Duffus (BNE), Vlad Shatrov (NSW), Stephanie Auston (NSW), Beth Cardelli (NSW), Lou Clifton (NSW), Jodie Oborne (BNE), Karen Barrett (NSW), Sam Burridge (ACT), Tom Brazier (ACT), Kieran O’Brien (BNE), Jess Schluter (BNE) and Aaron Knight (VIC) all racing for awesome prizes including $1000 cash for the 110km, Red Bull Defiance Race Entry in their Hamilton Island Event 2019, 9 Dragons 50/50 race entry 2020, or a trip to Japan to race the Hakuba International Trails 2020.

The Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ marathon course was specifically designed by passionate trail lovers Shona Stephenson, David Eastman and Cora Lau to be placed amongst the most picturesque and challenging trail ultra marathons in Australia.

The Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ marathon is staged in Brisbane where locals have long enjoyed the 36000 hectares of D’Aguilar National Park;s expansive eucalyptus woodlands, subtropical rainforests and gorges, all within a stone’s throw away from the vibrant Brisbane city centre.

Our races aim to both test the best trail runners locally and internationally as well as allowing the fun-loving cruise runners to come out and enjoy the spoils of Brisbane’s Hinterland.

Whether you are looking at racing solo in the 30km, 60km or 110km 100 Mile events or entering as a team in the 30km, 60km or 110km relay team event, you won’t be disappointed.

The Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ is a challenging course designed with generous sections of vertical gains and losses in all three distances offered. Our premier 110km ultramarathon boasts approximately 5000m of vertical climb and descent through much of Brisbane hinterland’s surrounding trails. Our start line will be in The Gap, a leafy inner Brisbane Suburb only 8km from the Brisbane CBD. Run straight into the D’Aguilar National Park through beautiful gorges, breath-taking lookouts, around Brisbane lakes, through eucalyptus forests where you will experience stunning virgin rainforests and sweeping views of Brisbane’s woodlands, you will be rewarded with extraordinary views following demanding climbs as well as enjoying thrilling sections of descents.

We have injected more excitement into the Brisbane Trail Ultra™️ with our 2019 inclusion of the Red Bull Climb. They is a race within a race from our final check point to the top of the Pinnacles Climb, 1700m of up hill pain to win a race entry to the prestigious Red Bull Defiance race in Hamilton Island.
